Growing Pains

We've posted less frequently over the past few months because life has been a little busier than usual around here.... As summer wound down, we geared up for moving our household, and in late September we relocated our daily home-base to the condo Jenny still owns. It took many more weekends to get most everything we need incorporated into the condo, boxed for storage, or disposed of. We're hoping to get the renovation construction on the house started after the holidays. Jadyn has adjusted well to our new living situation, and her makeshift room is comfy and just the right size for her to get a good night's sleep.
There have been a couple of viruses shared amongst family members this fall to keep us a little off kilter, and just before Halloween, Jadyn decided one morning that she didn't want to wear diapers to school. So began our toileting adventure, which overall has been pretty successful. But it has added more laundry to our busy lives, and we're all adjusting to the need to race off to a potty at a moment's notice. Add in an out-of-state conference for Jenny and planning for upcoming holiday travel to the usual household activities, and you get a very crazy fall. We still try to do the occasional playdate, like this one with Madeline,
and visits to the zoo, weekend mornings at our favorite coffeeshop, and occasionally trying a new restaurant. (Jadyn likes going out to eat and behaves fairly well in restaurants these days, as long as we don't stay too too long.)  Jadyn enjoys playing with her babies
and her magnetic letters (this after a day of blue paint at school),
opening gifts sent through the mail (thanks Grandma Jeanne and Aunt Julie!),
and, in general, just being cute.
But Jadyn will have some competition come next spring -- her baby brother is due to join us the first week of April. We've only got a few photos so far, but you can bet this blog is going to get a little more crowded as our family grows!

As you can see, busy as we are, we have so much to be thankful for.  We wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
